Garlic is a genetically gifted young stallion making his debut at stud in Son Tec's program. He is actually a dunalino, but AQHA now registers dunalinos as palominos with dun features (used to register them as red duns). His sire Wimpy Sugar Doc came directly from the famous King Ranch.  In addition to his fine foundation progenitors—Plaudit, Wimpy, Music Mount, Oklahoma Star, Babe Grande, and Leo—Garlic descends closely from CJ Sugar of Rey Jay fame, as well as the great Dry Doc, full brother to Doc O'Lena.

Garlic was raised by Mary Jagow of Westcliffe, CO, who has been raising horses for over 50 years and knows intimately the family of horses on his dam's side. This family of horses has produced claybank, dilute black, cremello and isabelo colors. Garlic carries the gene that produces true buckskin and palomino, as well as the dun factor that is essential for grullo, duns, red duns, and red dun roans.

Goodun is our up and coming young stud, and he promises to be a "good one."  His disposition is so calm and steady; he's loving and wants to please; and he learns so fast.  We are very pleased with him.   Goodun is registered bay roan, but according to geneticist Phillip Sponenberg, he is a purple roan.

Goodun's dam was a bay roan and his sire is the blue roan Azul Caballo Amigo of Robin's Nest Farms. He traces back eight times to Joe Hancock and three times to Blue Valentine. Goodun  produces bay roans and buckskins out of buckskins, and blue roans out of blue roan  mares.  We'll see what else he produces as he has been bred to a claybank red dun this year.
